SYNOPSIS:

A precious box, full of secret drawers and flaps, where a heterogeneous world is busy in a multitude of different activities.
Beijing is a red lacquered beehive, scented with honey and spices and full of hard-working bees, each humming their own song, but all together singing the city into life.

Una scatola preziosa, piena di cassetti e ribaltine segrete, dove un mondo eterogeneo si moltiplica in diverse attività.
Beijing è un alveare, rosso lacca, profumato di miele e di spezie e colmo d’api operose, Ognuna ronza la propria canzone, ma tutte insieme cantano la città.

'Beijing appartient à la série Travel Notebooks; ses vidéos telles des carillons et des puzzles décrivent l’essence d’une ville dans son aspect collectif et son mouvement en même temps que le processus émotionnel et cognitif du voyageur qui la découvre. Selon le modèle du photo-reportage, les collages numériques reconstituent les lieux de la ville selon la forme qu’ils ont prise dans l’esprit de l’artiste. Ainsi tiennent-ils la fonction des notes d’un carnet de voyage et les fragments de la mémoire du voyageur. L’animation, en garante de la vivacité, mêle les impressions comme un jeu ininterrompu de passages intérieur / extérieur voire elle provoque leur simultanéité, dans le refus de la perspective mathématique à laquelle elle préfère l’accumulation, le rapprochement, les strates ensemble que l’émotion engendre.
Pékin/ Beijing s’y avère une boîte précieuse, de laque ornementée d’or, cachant et découvrant ses tiroirs secrets, ses niches où un monde hétérogène multiplie ses riches et différents aspects.
